Spot is from Minneapolis, USA. In his pedigree you can find some superb Scottish working dogs (including Supreme Arbeits-Ch. Spot ISDS 161.819 and Supreme & Scot. Arbeits-Ch. Wisp ISDS 161.487). His parents are the type of border collie we love: clever, lots of stamina, strong and a great will to please....
Spot was breed by Becky Beckmann and Steve Burdin at the Rising Sun kennel. Ebbo had the opportunity to stay a week at their home and get to know their dogs very well. He went to trials with Becky who is also a well known trial judge in the USA - and saw her doing daily training at their sheep and cattle with her dogs. This was a unique possibility to get a very close look at Spots ancestors. 
At the end of a of a exiting week the most thrilling part of the journey began for Spot: Together with Ebbo Spot took place in the passenger compartment of the airplane. Also this must have been extraordinary thrilling for Spot, he always stayed calm and enjoyed giving kisses to the stewardesses :-)
In the meantime the little pup from the USA is matured into a almost adult dog and we are pleased to see that he forfills all our expectations. In daily life Spot is a always friendly and easy to life with dog. When he is working the sheep he pleases us with his great sheepsense, his balance and a natural cast. After being placed in 2007 in class 1, Spot had his first class2 trial in 2008 where he finished fourth. In agility Spot is very promising, but as we keep our focus on his herding education he is doing agility only very rarely and just for fun.
